KINDREDRU

For families who live far apart

Video letters between grandparents and kids.

A grandparent records a 20-second challenge. The kid answers whenever it suits your day. A star comes back, then the next ask. No calls to schedule, no feed, nothing a four-year-old can get lost in.

Become a founding family

Founding spots are limited to 100 families.

Why the FaceTime call keeps failing

It isn’t the distance. It’s attention. A call is scheduled for the adults, lasts as long as a four-year-old’s patience, and ends with “say hi to Grandma” while the kid is already gone.

A Sunday video call

  1. 0:00Parents set it up. Kid is mid-Lego.
  2. 0:15“Say hi to Grandma.” A wave, from the side.
  3. 0:40Kid drifts out of frame. Parents narrate.
  4. 4:00Grandma is talking to the ceiling. Everyone hangs up a little sad.

A KINDRED day

  1. 8:00Delhi. Dadi records a 20-second ask: “Show me your best jump.”
  2. 15:30Toronto. He opens it because it’s for him. Jumps. Taps done.
  3. 21:00Delhi. A star lands, and tomorrow’s ask.
  4. dailyTwenty seconds each, on each person’s own clock.

Short. Daily. The kid’s idea to answer. That’s what a four-year-old can do.

Three things it does. That’s all.
